Our principal outreach to the Community is through our excellent and professionally staffed
Pre-School and its many programs. A number of volunteers operate a very successful co-op program
called "FoodSource" out of our parish hall. The hall is also used several times a week
by Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon. As a joint ministry with Saint Peters Parish,
we serve Thanksgiving Dinner ("Feed My Sheep") to a large crowd.
We coordinate with Riverside Counseling Services to offer Counseling services for all in need.
Special donations have been made to Kairos Prison Ministry, Anchor House Ministries
(young men), Children Against Drugs, Missing Children, Episcopal Relief and Development Fund,
the Episcopal Christian Caring Fund, and the Diocese of Honduras.
We have an active ministry at local
hospitals and nursing homes. We support Halifax Urban Ministries (a local food bank) with
regular donations of money and canned goods. We also participate in the annual Crop Walk
for world hunger (Church World Service) and Blanket Sunday (Church Women United).
